Will NavMan marry TomTom?

Hi Dave and all,

I am going to purchase my first GPS which is so what a very exciting process. Choose what to have etc.

I think I have so what made up my mind, just wonder if anyone could kindly comment.

I think I am going to go for Navman 4100 bt receiver (as I like the battery bit. hate to know I need to buy a new one because of memory effect on battery in other models) and TomTom 2 software (as I like the 3D road map).

Dave I think you mentioned (a month ago or so) that both Navman 4100 and TomTom2 work okay together (i.e. no conflict). Do you still agree so, or anything new you have heard recently? Or if any member has any bad experience at all?

I know it is not going to be the cheapest combination (as I will miss out the bundle price), but I think it is a good combo. The best of both worlds? Anyone has different views?

Wish me luck with my new purchase.

I know I need to buy a HP2210 and a 128 (cf?) memory card and a car mount. Anything else? (I don't think I need to buy a cable to link the two, do I?)

I am actually wondering how does TomTom2 will recognise Navman 4100. In the PC world, we need to have driver for hardware so that the software can understand the hardware. Does the same not apply in the GPS world?
