|
|
Hi Folks,
My first post, good evening.
I have just downloaded the single file "Hope this contains all the cameras", onto my Tomtom ONE.
Just as a test, I set up the warnings in the POI's for cameras and petrol stations, I then did a demo journey where known cameras and petrol stations were located.
Petrol stations were detected, but cameras were not !!!.
So, the question is:
Are cameras detected on the demo routes, or do I have a problem?.

How many other POI categories do you have enabled for warnings?
Did you check the box " only warn when on route" ? _________________ Lutz

Hi,
I have only 2, Cameras and Petrol Stations.
I did not check the box "Only warn when on route".
But I have carried out another test with the box ticked, no change.
Looks like I have a problem !!!...

deselect the petrol stations for now, and only select the cameras. When you test the sound, make sure you can actually hear it. Set the warning distance to 250 metres, and then plot a route that's generously starting before a camera. Do not change the demo speed, 200% is the maximum for the alerts to work. _________________ Lutz

Petrol stations were detected, but cameras were not !!!. | So you've got the Camera POIs set to "warn when near"?

| What speed did you run the demo at? I've noticed that you (sometimes?) don't get the warnings when running faster than the default (200%?). _________________ Jock

Thanks for the replies folks.
I have carried out all of your suggestions, and I have run another demo route at default speed, still no result.
More head scratching me thinks...
I will try an actual run today passed some cameras to do a factual test.

Just had a look at the file names from the single file download, and I noticed that the 2 files are named with europe :
pocketgps_europe 12KB 0v2 File
pocketgps_europe 1KB Bitmap Image
May have downloaded the wrong file, although I can't remember having the option for the UK.
Will have another look later, after the actual road test.

You have indeed downloaded the wrong file. Still you will be warned of any cameras in France, that is if you ahve the French map. _________________ Peter
