I have ordered the following package via the net-:

Pocket PC -: HP IPAQ RX 1950 COLOUR HANDHELD

Vehicle mount: HP rx1950 car mounting kit with speakers 12/24 volt

Software-:Co-pilot live 6 with blue tooth receiver.

I have since found out that the HP IPAQ RX 1950 does not have bluetooth capability.
So the blue tooth GPS unit is rendered useless with this package.
(what a cock-up!)

so-:
1: Could any body tell me if copilot works with a wired plug in GPS receiver?
2: If yes could you recommend one that gives rock solid reception at all times?

Although the short answer is yes- you can use a wired gps receiver with Copilot, I agree with Alix776. If still possible, change the PPC, and not the bluetooth receiver. Wired or CF card receivers make the whole setup physically more bulky and more cumbersome to use. When out of the car, you can hang a bluetooth receiver on a lanyard and forget it is there, and an accompanying PPC will slip into your shirt top pocket - if you make sure it is suitably sized.

If you do get a bluetooth PPC, make sure you get one that has a bluetooth driver with Audio Gateway support (or equivalent - the terminology varies) . This will enable you to listen to the navigator's instructions through a bluetooth headset or hands-free audio unit. You will, if you make sure of what you're getting, also be able to take advantage of a variety of compatible bluetooth devices including data exchange with bluetooth mobile telephones, PCs, etc.

What ever happens, I whatever opportunity you still have to check out all the functions and facilities, and all compatibility issues, before you go any further.

Good luck.

Paul
