Hi all:
I'm semi-retired, but work a couple of days a week for a company delivering Demonstrator cars (to prospective buyers, journalists etc.). There are about 100 of us drivers, some part-time like me, others full time - many have TomToms and most of those are not particularly 'pooter-savvy.
Since I subscribed to the database a few days ago, I've found it extremely useful; I'm afraid that most of the cars we drive are high-end, high-performance machines and 85mph in these cars sounds and feels like 30mph in the everyday cars that we own! After canvassing several of my colleagues, I think that it would be a good idea to offer an installation service for them.
I am thinking about charging an initial £5 to set up their TomTom with the latest database, plus a couple of Voices and a personalised Splash Screen. and a nominal £3 per month after that, being a £1 nominal charge for my time plus the £2 monthly fee for the database.
Some questions:
As long as my colleagues each set up an account (via me), can I use my downloaded database to update their machines?
Can I transfer settings such as Warning alerts and sounds from one TomTom to another?
I hope that you can see from this that I am not wanting to capitalise unduly from all your hard work (which is very much appreciated!)

So long as each individual who uses the database is a subscriber with a valid subscription to us then I would see no issue with that. It goes without saying that distributing our database free or otherwise to non-subscribers is not permitted.
Similarly, installing voices and alerts so long as they are not subject to ours or AN others copyright is permissible. However, many voices are copyright, you would need to check before you installed them. _________________ Darren Griffin
Hmm, just had a look at the Multi Licence, which is interesting, but of the 100 (plus or minus a few...) drivers, not all of them have personal satnavs (relying on the fact that most of the cars we drive have them built-in; great for those who don't own a portable satnav, but I personally think my TomTom is much better anyway 8) ), so the savings become less. Still, if enough people are interested, it's ceratinly worth thinking about.
