what nokia ?

I was thinking of getting an N70 or 6680 but find numerous posts reporting problems

currently have a Qtek 2020i but it's too cumbersome and doesn't fit in my pocket

also, are there any reasonably sized mobiles with a touch screen that are stable with TT5 ?

I would recommend the N70 with TomTom Mobile. The only problems i had was when i used the pocketgps speed cameras with the software. The signal would drop out after 10-15 minutes. When i removed them, everything worked fine and have never had a drop in signal after that.

I am using the full retail kit of tomtom and my N70 runs on firmware V3. On average i use Tomtom every other day, for both long and short distances

I'm running it on a Nokia 9500.
Large display works well with it.

Though as you mentioned another phone wouldn't fit in your pocket then this one is certainly not for you.
It's a bit of a brick really, but I love it.
