Hiya,

I've Got a Globalsat BC-307 connected to my Axim X5.
Up to today it worked fine along with TT5 and PocketNav, but this morning coming to work, it would not gain a fix.

Looking at the Sat Info shows that I am seeing anything up to 9 Sats and normally a min of 4.

Any reason for the unit not to gain a fix and can I do anything about it?

Thanks,

Paul Ryder

You would be better off waiting until the unit has attained the fix before moving off. When moving the GPS will struggle to aquire the data it needs from scratch in comparison to when stationary.
Its possible the unit has "lost" its memory and therefore needed to update information stored within the unit, this can take time depending on buildings, moving/ stationary and vehicle windscreen etc. all these can combine to give the unit a hard time. - Mike

Thanks for the reply.

I know it's best to wait, but it's always gained a fix after a few mins (up to 10). I drove 40mins to work and it didn't gain a fix at all.
I've just been too impatient to wait.. Wink

It's never done this before.

I also left it for 10mins in the conservatory and it's didnt gain a fix then either. Did see Sats though.
