Sorry if this is a pretty basic request but I have just setup my Dell Axim with TomTom2 and a Globalsat receiver - which I'm so far pretty impressed with (despite the fact it does not have my street on it - as it only 5 years old !!)

anyway - can I simply plug in a postcode and it figures out the address for me ? or is there an add-on like your excellent Safety Camera add-on

thanks Graham

You can't do it natively ( Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad ), but I'm now doing post code searches almost exclusively - I hardley ever use an address:

Go here, and download the 10 "Code Search" files kindly created by George Spanellis. Each zip file contains several OV2 files, one for each post code prefix. The really laborious bit is you need to re-name them all so the file names start with the first two letters of the postcode, otherwise you can't search for them easily. Then, copy the ones you are most interested in to your map folder on the PPC (you'll be lucky if TomTom will load if you copy them all, so you'll have to limit it to the ones you are most likely to use - I have copied those for the south east). If you want to, you can copy the rest to a sub folder, so if you do find you need them at some time, you can copy them into the map folder while out and about.

Now when you want to navigate to a postcode, tap navigate to>point of interest, and type in the first two letters of your postcode. Select the correct POI, and then type in the full postcode. That's it! It makes the whole process very easy, and so far I've found them to be pretty accurate.

Thanks George!

BTW if anyone wants to avoid the re-naming bit, I'd be happy to upload the ones I've already done, if you can tell me where to send them.

Here's some pictures of the process, it really is very easy as long as you do the re-naming:

It would be ideal of course if all of the OV2's could be combined into one, but I think there's a size limit. I couldn't make it work Crying or Very sad .
