I have just purchased a TT GO 910 and I am having problems getting a good signal on my 2 year old Vauxhall Zafira (old model). It has a heat reflecting widscreen(!)

Has anyone else had this problem ?
Where is the best position to mount the unit on the 'screen ?

Thanks in advance for any help/ advice. Mark

You'll probably need the external aerial.

Yes you will need a external aerial as reflecting screens stop the signels on most

I had a zafira with a heat reflective screen and my tomtom one picked up signals fine, I would've thought the 910 would work as its the same receiver. Could the 910 be faulty or haven't you got it on the dash near the windscreen?

I placed mine fastened to the windscreen to the right of the driver, ie near the small glass window near the drivers door.

Got a Zafira right now (rental car), I am not sure if it has a heat reflective screen (1.9Cdti Design) but I pick up signal fine on my 910.

Hope it helps.

the GO x10's all have SiRFStarIII Chipsets which are unaffected by athermic windscreens so you should not need an external antenna.

I was just attempting to clarify that other posters comments about requiring external antennas were incorrect.

As you have said, both the ONE and x10's share SiRFStarIII receivers.

Not incorrect if (as he says) kichi has already tried it and IS having reception problems.

Which would suggest a problem with the unit itself is more likely, I've tested the ONE and 910 in a variety of vehicles that could not receive signals using pre SSIII receivers and all worked with the SSIII chipsets.

Yes but is it a Go300/500/700 or an x10 i.e. 510, 710, 910?
