I have a firend who has one of these and I have been given it to see if i can update the map and add speed camera POIs to it....
im stuggling it appears as though you need to pay for an overlay (although im not sure of this) that allows pois and of course pay for the new maps her husband has got a similar machine with version 5 on it, are the maps compatible, can i copy the map off 5 ont 4 legally?

Can anyone help with the maps or getting the thing to work with the speed camera database.

i forgot to mention its running on a transonic pna 3002 running windows ce i believe

i think i have answered my own questions after all, the maps arent compatible but POI warner will make it work with the speed camera database

correct me if im wrong

There should be a version for v4.2 from POI-warner, but there is not a version for v5, only v5.1

No, v5.xx maps will not work with v4.xx as they changed the way they compiled the maps for v5

thanks for the reply, your "how to" was very useful by the way i dont think i would have sussed out how to get poi-warner working without it.

one question remains, how can i tell what version of the map is installed on it so i can see how out of date it is and therefore see if its worth buying a more upto date map, if indeed you can buy them????
