Hi all,

Have just recently purchased an i3 and it took me ages to work out how to download and install the speed cameras poi`s.
What I was wondering though , is it possible to use the i3 just sort of turned on but not actually navigating anywhere, so it is there just to warn me about speed cameras etc. Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance

Yup - just select view map from the main menu.

Even in this mode, it's quite handy - if you've loaded them, you'll get safety camera alerts, and the alert banner at the top, will give you the name of the road that you're just about to meet.

Hi,

Thanks very much for the quick reply, I thought there might be a way, otherwise you would only attach it when you actually needed to go somewhere you didnt know. Thanks again.

I tend to set my destination, even for routes I know quite well. This allows you to divert in case of an incident ahead and also stops false camera alerts as it only alerts you to cameras on your route.

Nick.

Thanks for the reply Nick, makes sense, the only thing is it might decide to take you on a different route there again it compensates for the route you take. I`ll try it both ways and see if there is any difference.

Thanks again....Dilwyn

in fact you dont even have to select view map or where to.

leave as is and the warning will still appear on the screen in a 2/3 screen size box.

yes turn it on and the warning screen will appear.
leave it or press the scroll wheel, either will take you to the view map, where to and settings page.

then leave alone.
