time delay lag in tom tom

Can anybody help me here. I'm using a pda h3970 with tom tom 5 and a bluetooth gps reciever (one with solar panel on it) and when i use tom tom everything is fine apart from the streets appear on the map about 1-2 seconds after i pass them, which messes up all the vocal instructions. is it the gps reciever or the program?

Neither. Reduce the number of (custom) POI you are showing on the map.

Use the Warn When Near Function, rather than Enabling the POI's.;)

thanks there people it makes sense because i had pretty much every custom poi enabled. i now only list petrol stations.
