|
|
I have a Palm TX with TTN5 i have been trying to activate the traffic updates and other plus services to run through my mobile phone blue tooth (Sony W800i, O2 contract) and have been unsuccessful, recieve a message saying 'error: Serial: timeout, could be bad cable or faulty Modem. (0x0305)' . I have contacted both Palm and Tom Tom and none of their suggestions have worked. Any one got any ideas? |

Are you using a bluetooth GPS receiver with your TX?
If so you won't be able to get any plus services working because the bluetooth version in your TX won't support more than one connection at a time (and so cannot talk to both the GPS receiver and the phone simultaneously).
If you're using a wired GPS receiver then there might be hope...the serial timeout message is usually palmspeak for telling you to switch your bluetooth on.
But it can be several other things too... |

i've tried connecting to the plus services without the GPS connected (i.e. to down load voices) through my phone web brower but even this isn't working and there is only one bluetooth system activated at that time. Bluetooth connection is definately working fine. But thanks anyway. |

Are you otherwise able to do things using your phone's GPRS?
Is it just tomtom plus, or is it internet stuff generally? Have you configured your TX to use the GPRS facilities offered by your phone and carrier? |

i.e. can you surf the web on your TX using the sony phone as a modem? Can you download your email to the TX. Have you run the phonelink application?(I guess the Tx has one, my T3 had one) _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |
