Uploaded speedcam database using garmin's POI loader. Now when I look at the custom POI's the i3 screen goes blank and can't find satelites anymore!

Anyway to reset it ! Crying or Very sad

Switch it on with the wheel and the back button pushed (i.e. all the buttons pushed) when it asks if you want to reset click on yes.

Let us know if it works.

Father in law's did exactly the same after we loaded in a load of POIs, just completely locked whenever his memory card was in, but worked fine with mine in.

He rang Garmin who said they'd not had anything reported, but they're sending him a new card out.

Maybe it's an inherent problem that's only coming to light as people are loading thousands of POIs? (he had over 10,000 when it locked).

Cheers,
Noel.

I had exactly the same problem and this has come up on a quite a few posts. I was told by Garmin that they hadn't encountered this before.Me thinks they have but are not letting on! I had to send it back and they diagnosed a faultly Transflash Card. which they replaced. Come on Garmin be honest with us!

Thanks for the advice

It failed when uploading the database, and then all the POI of the MaFt website. About 40000 poi's!.

The POI loader software says it tells you if there is enough room on the flashcard so I assumed it was all ok, but I wonder if there is a maximum number of POI's and it is this that makes it fail.

Also when it does fail the POI loader software then also no longer seems to work - the i3 freezes when trying to transfer data. Also can't update the i3 software either - basically stuck with it.

Deleting the poi's on the flash card might work, but I don’t have a reader for the micro flash card.[/i]

I just bought myself a transflash adapter of ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SANDISK-TRANSFLASH-ADAPTER-SD-MEMORY-CARD-32-mb_W0QQitemZ9117100528QQcategoryZ98876QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It came with a 32 MB card all for £3.98 delivered. It came the next day!

this adapter will allow any SD card readers to read the card.

It allows you access to the POI file on the card. You will be able to delete the old file and I have now backed up the whole card to my hard drive just in case I need it in the future.
