Hi everyone

been away from this forum for while as my i3, "Madge", (don't ask why, as I don't have an answer), has been working faultlessly

very excited to hear about v.8 free upgrade from garmin, will post for mine tmrw

But my real reason for posting is....

I would like to buy the long awaited transflash upgrade card for summer hols to France this year. I note they are now available on Garmin USA website for $182, but can't find them for sale here in Blighty.

Anyone bought one here in UK?

Are they v.7 or v.8?

They are presumably worth the money?

i think i saw a thread somewhere re someone buying a french card but it seems the best bet is to buy a city select dvd (for a liittle more money) with all off europe on it and a blank micro sd/transflash card.......

zogman is right.
i would get a 1GB transflash chip (~50$+shipping) and city navigator 7 (~300$+shipping).
if you buy the disc from a us retailer you get licences for 2 devices.

the price might be higher but you get all of europe and you can install it on two garmin gps devices. i think the city navigator 7 should qualify for a free update to navigator 8 if you buy it now.
best regards

How many countrys can you get on a 1g transflash chip. When you use the DVD does it say how big the uploads will be before you flash the card. I think the supplied card is 256meg so could you get most of europe on a 1g card
