Hi all,

I have just upgraded to a Treo 650 running TomTom Nav 5 from a SPV C500 running Copilot smartphone v1.

I'm having trouble using the Copilot Bluetooth GPS receiver with Tomtom - if I'm lucky it connects but then stays connected for a short while and then keeps complaining that it's lost the connection. Sometimes it then (after a while) presents the list of bluetooth devices and I can re-select the GPS but just recently it's not even doing that.

With the C500 it never lost the connection (even for 1800 miles of driving from Dallas to Boston) at the weekend.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Does Tomtom talk to other Bluetooth GPS devices ok?

Notes:

Currently I have 2 items listed in my trusted devices list: my gps and my bluetooth headset (jabra 250)

I have tomtom set to use 'other bluetooth gps' with the key set up as 0183

Thanks in advance!

Martin

I would also add that TTN5 worked much better on my Tungsten T3 (until it did a hard reset and lost my data, which it does on the 650 too but fortunately it's got non-volatile memory)

I've tried version 5.12 and 5.21 and both have connection problems.

Does it cut out when it tries to communicate to the headset or some other BT device? If so that could be your answer.

I have been told that the Treo cannot handle more than one BT connection at a time. I have heard conflicting suggestions as to whether it is a limit with the Treo itself or with the Palm OS system. It has nothing to do with Tom Tom. In either event when the Treo tries to communicate to the headset it has to stop communicating to the sat nav receiver.

Someone I know here in the UK is seriously p***ed about that because he cant use his BT car phone kit and the sat nav at the same time.
