But do they or should they have their own unique .bmp file so they are recognised as a Truvelo as opposed to say a Gatso?? I assume a Truvelo is the 3 grid line type you see embedded in the tarmac itself?? Not sure exactly how they work. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks Andy for the Truvelo link. Will these type of cameras ever get their own sub category within the database one day? I think they deserve their own category and separate distinguishable icon if for no other reson other than to make drivers aware that the camera on the OTHER side of the road is the one they need to take heed of.

By the way I had it all wrong: until Andy pointing me in the right direction I thought the Truvelo type were gridlines embedded in road tarmac without a camera. I know of six examples of these in North Yorkshire which are not on the database. But I'm even more baffled as to what they are. The 3 grid lines are nowhere near as noticeable as the Pieza (?) type which aid the Truvelo forward facing camera. They are dark (same colour as the tarmac) thin embedded lines within one half of the road and there is always a flat 3 ft high "lampost" opposite the lines in the road. Does anyone know what these are? If they are cameras I will submit details for verification.

Thanks BGF for putting my mind at rest. I think the ones I've seen in North Yorkshire might be the Autovision type - the three grid lines are embedded on one side of the road only, no more than 2 feet wide with a 2ft or so flat post at the roadside.

Is there a case for creating a new camera sub category for these embedded type of cameras? Over to the Pocket GPS team to consider.
