|
|
Received this email from Graham:
"I have just downloaded the latest Garmin POI Loader, there was a problem
with All my POI csv files, the problem I have discovered is the Headers at
the top of each file now need to be preceded with ';' to mark them as
comment or be completed removed."
So, basically remove the 'title' row (row 1) from ALL csv files and this should work.
I will get the files edited on my site ASAP and will request that the PGPSW files are edited if possible.

MaFt, if the ; works, it is a much better solution than removing the header information. Adding the ; means that the data can still be read into Autoroute without having to add the header informantion, which would have to be done if said info was removed. _________________ Tim |

probably both speed-zoned and single file formats. also, it was garmin that changed their software, NOT PGPSW!! |

I have absolutely no idea how to work with CSV files. Please can someone help? Where do I put the semi-colon? In cell A1? For example:
pocketgps_uk_mobile.csv
Cell A1 = -3.71976
Cell B1 = 51.52475
Cell C1 = MOBILE:5607
Ergo, would Cell A1 = ;-3.71976 ?
Thank you. |

Thank you. However, my question was more about where to put the semi-colon. |

With the A1 Cell you have shown, you wouldn't use a semi-colon.
A semi-colon is used at the start of a comment. The software then knows to ignore that line as it is not data.
Normally a POI csv file starts like this:
;longitude,latitude,"Name"
-3.71976, 51.52475, MOBILE:5607
If you have text in A1 you place the ; there. If you have data, you don't. _________________ Richard

Thank you OldBoy! I have no text headers, which is why I was getting confused - I couldn't work out why a sem-colon would be required in front of a + or - sign and numbers.
I presume, then, that the database has been modified to remove the text headers.
I have downloaded them on to my i3 with absolutely no problem. All I have to do now is figure out how to actually make use of them I guess I'll be driving around tomorrow.... |

Hey MaFt
Haven't posted on here for ages. Good to see you're one of the mods now.
Just wanna check that if I install the latest POI loader (v2.2.1) it will go straight over the top of my previous version, and all POI files on your site will load as they previously did, albeit using the new formats and new POI software.
If I don't update the POI software then the camera database (which I understand you can't provide anymore) will not work, however it is fully compatiable if all software is kept up-to-date.
Hope that makes sense
Cheers |
