During a long journey using TomTom 2, if I stop the car when navigator is active, what is the best thing to do?

Leave my pocket pc (Tosh E330) running on its battery while ignition is off, or if i turn of pocket pc and completely power down everything. If i do will i loose all route details/gps position etc

Thanks

You should be able to just switch it off (1 short press of the power button on iPAQ 3970). On switching back on it should continue where it left off.

Only prob I've found is that it sometimes fails to regain a bluetooth connection.

[This is obviously with a bluetooth-type set-up, don't know about 'wired' versions]

Hi Alan,

What I do with my Tosh e330, is switch off the unit, then the ignition and switch on again AFTER starting the engine. It then carries on as soon as it gets a fix. The reason I do it like that is because the Tosh locked-up once, when I started the engine(after a stall)while TTNav was getting a fix, and I could not reset it. This way,no problems. If I'm going to be away from the car for a while (pub grub)I take it with me. You won't lose your route.

Tom.
