Locating satelite

My Streetpilot 13 is unable to lock on the satelite when it is in locating satelite screen. The direction sign is stuck over Taiwan and there is a red question mark flashing on it. I have been outside in the open where they are no buildings, but it still does not work. How can i rectify this matter. Sorry i am new to forum

With a fresh-out-of-the-box GPS unit, it can take upto half-an-hour-plus to get going - best bet is to leave it on a window sill somewhere, with a reasonably clear view of the sky.

as stated above it can take time at first to acquire a signal.

you may have tried this but...

check system settings, and check that GPS is selected and switched on as you can turn it off if needed.
