I am new to your website and also a new user of a Mitac Mio 168 PDA (2 days).
I had problems loading the voices for the speed camera POIs as the DATA.CHK file on the memory card wasn't the correct one for the beeps bongs etc, that particular file was in the TomTom directory on the memory card. I found the correct file on the PDA memory in the Program files/Navigator folder. I renamed the original file and copied the new file into that location and all worked wonderfully. The version of TomTom navigator I have is 5.210 (5430). Hope this is of help for anyone else who is struggling. |

Hi Big_Bad_Owl
Congratulations. As you appear to be a new user you seem to have overcome your problem all on your own. One can get allot of satisfaction by fiddling around on the PDA and solving the problem without outside help. But remember, when one does get completely stuck someone on this forum is only a couple of clicks away. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Just another tip, now you have your unit working as required, do a FULL BACKUP via ActiveSync. |

Hi Big_Bad_Owl
I see that Pocketgps has given you a tip – Make a Backup. He’s bloody right. A proper backup happens to be the most important task a PDA user (especially if using TT5) can carry out. I purchased Sprite Backup Premier (its only a few pounds and now I am in the happy position of knowing that I will never again come a cropper. If something awful was to happen I could do a Hard Reset and restore everything back onto my PDA. When I say everything I mean everything i.e. Programmes, Icons, Bluetooth settings and, well everything. For instance the other day I decided just out of curiosity to do a Hard Reset and restore an earlier backup that contained TT3. It worked perfectly. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
