Hi,

I can see a couple of posts about xda, in one of them it seems to be sugested that there is a walking/hiking gps option for the xda. Is this correct? If so what are my options?

For such purposes your options are Memory Map, Harvey, Fugawi or OziExplorer. We have reviews of all these here.



The problem you will have is obtaining a compatible GPS receiver. Those that are available for the xda require 12v power from the car accessory socket. Other PPC's allow use of a CF GPS or a Bluetooth GPS, neither of which are options open to xda owners. You could use a handheld GPS which has it's own battery source and connect it to the xda via a cable but this rather defeats the object I guess!
