Destinator Lite

Is there any way I can add POI on destinator lite? If not then how much would it cost to upgrade to destinator 3?

I'm not completely sure on this but I think Destinator Lite is a stripped down version of Destinator PN. PN is later than Destinator 3 so if I'm not mistaken you'd be downgrading.

Were there any upgrade vouchers with the software?

But you might want to weigh up your options and put the money towards another proggie. I'm assuming your Lite came bundled with a hardware package. Destinator has plusses and minuses as all of them do. Just a case of working out if the plusses suit you.

For me, Destinator is best value for European and US off-the-shelf packages, outstripping Tom Tom Navigator 5 for European package by some £45.00 last time I looked. You can get the whole of USA and Canada for £65.00 if you hunt stateside. It also navigates seamlessly across Europe loading new maps automatically as I go. It uses Navteq maps so I see roads in Southern Ireland where Tom Tom and other TeleAtlas based sytems often don't. So for me the Pro's outweigh the cons (and the cons are all in this forum - mostly to do with POIs and Speed Cameras).

Destinator is good for me so I live with its quirks. But for UK mainland navigation there are others which might suit better.

I have borrowed an Acer N35 unit with Destinator 3 (I think) and it seemed great. The acer N35 retails at £250. I can get a N35 Lite for £200 but this comes with Destinator Lite and no mains charger so was just trying to figure out what options I have!

Fair enough sjaisie, I see where you're coming from. My girlfriend has an N35 but it did have Destinator 3 on it. She went out and bought Tom Tom Navigator 5 in the end because Destinator 3 is fairly primitive by current standards.

Anyway, I rattled on rather a lot in the above 8O for a simple question, but i would still suggest a good trawl through the ads on the right hand side here and see what bundles you might get for around £50.00 more than your current budget. If you have to spend £50.00 to 'free' yourself from the shackles of a stripped down version then why not get part with it now and widen your choices. There are some great GPS bundles in there.
