I have a 12 month old tom tom go. I got some POIs and speed cameras downloaded last January and updated the camera dbase off here in November (cheers!)

I was looking on line at the November 2005 software update, v 5.420. I have v 4,420, never been updated frm stock.

Anyway, I followed the instructions on the update, did the back up to my pc to protect all my pois etc, but then it would not take the update as it said there was not enough space on my sd card?

It is the tom tom go original sd card, ready loaded wiht the great britain maps. It is a 32meg card I think, status screen shows 10.2 meg free.

So what do I need to do. Sorry if it is an obvious question, but do I need to flatten the sd card and relaod the new update? Does the update have all the maps on, or is it just firmware to run the maps I already haveon the sd card?

I'm stumped! Sad Any help appreciated.

If you don't have enough room, you can delete foreign voices you don't need. A 256MB card may be a better bet. Just copy your backup to it.

The upgrade will only update the system. You will still use the old maps. But there is a download of the 7 digit postcodes on the TT website.

Up until (I think) the last software update, there has always been just enough room to get all the camera POI files on and update the software, so long as you deleted the foreign voices that you don't need.
But people are now reporting that the latest update needs just that bit more space while it is actually installing but less when it has finished. So you could try taking off the camera files, updating the software, and then putting the cameras back on.

Or you could just buy a 256Mb card (yours will have been 128Mb not 32Mb) and copy everything off your old one onto that. Have a search on here, if you need more help to do that (it's just copy and paste of everything from the old card to the PC then back onto the new one)
