First post around here, great site. I have just bought a Tomtom Go 500 and have already downloaded the "pocketgps_uk_sc_dec05" safety camera database.

Question. I folowed the instructions carefully, but one small part was not totally clear, this is the part about exactly which files you transfer to the Tomtom.

Can anyone confirm what I did was correct.

I downloaded the "pocketgps_uk_sc_dec05" file, then copied the contents of the "ov2 bmp files" folder i.e. the 12 files ending with .bmp and .ov2. I copied these folders to the right destination in my Tomtom.

I didn't bother doing anything with all the other files and folders i.e. "alternative bmp files" "asc files" "csv files" "single file version" "speed zomed" "xls files".

Did I do this right?

Thanks.

Forgot to mention, did I do the right thing by dragging the contents only of the "ov2 bmp files" or should I have dragged the folder called "ov2 bmp files" onto my tomtom?

Sounds spot on mate , Yes you did the right thing by only dropping the .OV2 and .bmp files in , had you have dropped the folder in it simply wouldnt recognise the files

However what you have is a speed camera database that simply tells you there is a Gatso , or a mobile etc , it will not indicate to you what speed limit area you are in and should you wish to get adventurous and start putting funky voice commands on to tell you what the spe3d limit is as you approach the camera, you will not be able to assign a specific tone to the specific POI .... hope this is making sence

If you want your TT to tell you the speed limit as you pass the camera, use the files is the speed zoned folder from the download

If you leave the old Database on, it will alers you twice

Hope this helps

Stephen
