I am puzzled by all the posts relating to the Medion PNA175.

I bought a PNA175 from Halfords in December 2005 and have used extensively since with no problems.

I also downloaded all the speed camera POI's using POI-Warner again with no problems.

The PNA175 has Navigator 4.4 installed and the UK maps that came with it seem relatively up to date showing the M6 toll road for example.

The device seems well made and robust as do all the accessories that came with it.

Why is it all PNA175 owners seem hung up on Navigator 5.1 or replacing it with Tom Tom when to my mind everything seems OK as it is, OR should I be worrying too?

My only concern at the moment is related to my June holiday in France - should I buy the French map from the Medion UK web site or should I buy the upgrade to 5.1 that includes ALL European maps from the Medion International web site.

Your comments would be appreciated

The reason I want to run tom tom is because I have the seperate maps for europe and would like to save money on buying these for my 96800.
Does the map for europe give postcodes or is it just main roads like the one that came with the 96800?

I enquired on the Medion International web site about the Euro maps and got the following reply - "the maps are all street level (with most house numbers). These maps are to be selected in the software and
thus do not allow for borderless navigation"

The web site that shows these maps is -https://navigation.medion.com/site/int/en/shop/consumer/accessories/11
