Santa brought me one of these bundles with viaMichelin Navigator.
Was working fine yesterday.
This morning I am getting an error message when I start the program:
ViaMichelin has detected the following error : "File Error". This is probably due to a lack of storage space or a problem on the disk.
Any ideas on how this can be fixed or do I need to contact ViaMichelin technical support ??
Thanks in advance |

Hi Scrimmy, Mine did that when I first had mine, make sure ALL the programs are shut down before you switch it off,(click on the little icon, on the bottom right and shut Everything down) this will give you more memory. Failing that, do a warm re-set, (push the little button on the bottom with your stylus)that will shut everything down. Also, If you are using the original SD card, if you try to plan a long route, you will get the same error, the iPAQ uses the memory card to plan the route, and it hasn't got much free space after the ViaMitchelin softwear is on there. You need to transfer it onto a bigger one. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

As said, I would definately transfer to a bigger card.. it really does make life a lot easier if you want to use the pocket PC as a pocket PC and store files and programs, and still be able to have enough memory to run the ViaMich software.
You can also change how much memory is dedicated to running programs vs storage. After closing all nonessential programs using HP task switch (NOT clicking the 'X' as you would normally), go to Start- Settings- System (a tab along the bottom)- Memory and drag the slider to assign as much memory to program, as little to storage.
After doing that, try running ViaMich again.
If you have any more problems, come back! _________________ iPAQ rz1710, ViaMichelin (mapsonic) 3.2,

Thanks for the replies.
I had to copy the contents of the SD card onto my PC, delete the maps. Reload the maps onto the SD card via the quickinstall program from the viamichelin disk then copy the remaining files back onto the card from my PC.
I am sourcing a 1GB SD card so that I can add the camera info onto it.
Is there any way of deleting a favourite place once it has been saved? |
