I've been a Navman3400/iPAQ3970 user for some time but have now made the 'leap' across to TT2 Bluetooth whilst also treating myself to the iPAQ2210.

The iPAQ has arrived and I notice the speaker is located on the rear as opposed to the front on the 3970. The voice nav is supposedly louder on TT than Navman - but as I'm waiting for the TT package to arrive can anyone tell me if there is a noticeable difference in audio with the 2210 speaker at the rear??

I have a cassette audio adapter as well so audio can always be routed through that if it's that bad - hope not!!

I've got a 2210 with TTN2 and had exactly the same concerns also before purchase, but thankfully everything has worked out just fine.

Even in my old (but still beautiful) 944 Turbo, which suffers from tyre roar, gearbox whine, wind noise, engine breakthrough etc, etc, then I can still easily hear the instructions - even at motorway speeds. It's not a concern.

I can't hear it above a CD being played loud, but then I wouldn't expect too.

After reading the 'bargain universal vent mount' thread in the accesories forum, I went out and bought the Arkon mentioned

This works extremely well as its greater depth allows for angling the 2210 towards me, plus it gives some free room behind the speaker, allowing it to work perfectly. My complete guess is that any mount where the back of the PDA is pressed against a surface would significantly muffle/quieten the output of the speaker.

Excellent, thanks LC. Can't wait for it to arrive now.

Thanks for the tip on the mount as well - that was going to be my next concern.

Cheers!
