GPS maps and lat/lon

I have only ever used my GPS with OSGB and OS maps. I am planning to do some walking in Spain and all the maps are LAT/LOT - sorry to be a thickie but how do you measure between grid boxes on LAT/LON maps. With OSGB its easy as you just divide each box by 10 e.g. SK 12(0-9), 12(0-9). Can anyone help or put me in the right direction ?

ok, so I was being a bit lazy and www.maptools.com has lots of useful stuff, on another note does anyone know what format my Magellan 310 uses for LAT/LON (e.g. Degrees and Decimal Minutes) and if it can be changed. Cheers.
