I upgraded to version 5.2 and I have just noticed that Northern Ireland is on the map. So the map should really be called 'United Kingdom'. Northern Ireland is not shown on the 'coverage' section of the tomtom site:

Is it there in version 5.0? |

Ah, I did not check beyond Belfast till now. Belfast is street level. The rest is only major routes.
Is that the same in version 5.0? |

yeah, it's the same in v5.
belfast is mapped to street level, but outside of that, it's about as basic as you can get. it has the a6 to londonderry - that's about it!
it amazes me that shops have the balls to sell it knowing it is virtually useless! i was talking to a taxi driver the other day in belfast and he said he bought it but had to take it back! they (dixons) didn't even tell him about the coverage (or lack of it) outside of belfast... |

Which is why they sell it as "Great Britain" not United Kingdom or even British Isles. It has full coverage of Great Britain, Belfast and Dublin but outside of there it's just the major roads.
I agree Dixons should not have sold you it without telling you that. |

Tomtom is merely confused about the meaning of "Great Britain". They include Northern Ireland (34% coverage) in the "Map of Great Britain".
