you will need to get city select europe (about £150) and load this onto a blank transflash card ..DO NOT LOAD ONTO YOUR EXISTING CARD cos you will loose all the pre-programmed maps....probaly cheaper to buy a gps with euro maps in it.. _________________ *************************** |

Garmin were saying that each additional region (France, Germany, Benelux are all regions) would cost about £80 or as zogman suggests, you might be able to get City Select Europe but it's £150 or more.
If you need European maps then you might want to look at the total cost of i3 + City Select and then consider some of the higher spec GPS units like the Quest or Street Pilot C320 which come with a lot more features AND City Select with an unlock code for all of Europe. _________________ Gone fishing! |

I have heard some oppinions that if you do that you cannot navigate in 3D.
Is it true?
Anyone tried?
Anyone tried to unlock City Select Europe V6 or V7 for an I3 as a second unit? |

I am still confused
I re-read Geckogirl's posts and the conclusion was that she navigated in Italy in 2D. - Geckogirl, please enlighten me.
On the other hand, somebody stated that CS Europe is only in 2D.
As far as I know, 2D or 3D is not a map feature but a hardware feature.
I am still interested to know if anybody did unlock CS Europe v6 or v7 as I3 being SECOND UNIT??

i might have remembered incorrectly about gekogirls experience but i have loaded mg usa v4.01 (which is auto routable) onto a blank card and done a simulated navigation and that was in 3d.... _________________ *************************** |
