|
|
After playing with the 5.21 upgrade I ended in a situation where I have two working copies of tomtom, one in RAM \programfiles\navigator and one in \ipaq file store\tom tom navigator.
Now I would like to keep the one in ipaq file store to free RAM. The problem is that TOMTOM on today screen starts the program in RAM. How can I change it to start the program in ipaq file store?
What folders if any are still needed in RAM after deleting \program files\navigator? |

I'd try renaming the one in \program files and see what happens |

Looks like if you want to start it from the Today plugin it has to reside in \program files. I start it via a hardware key. |

clean everything out so you have just one "TomTom Navigator.exe" and then remove and reinstall the Today plugin. _________________ Lutz

Yes, but how to install just the today-plugin and nothing else?
Cannot see a separate cab file or something today specific. |

you can use the standalone TTTODAY cab from an older install. No idea why they have now combined everything into one CAB... _________________ Lutz

.....Well, I give up and use a hardware button to start.
Cannot find tttoday.cab but wzd.cab wich installs tttoday but it is not working either.
Thanks for all answers anyway... |

don't give up so quickly. the WZD.CAB is the right one. Just make sure you have cleaned out your PPC before you run the wzd.cab - there should only be one "TomTom Navigator.exe" on your PPC. _________________ Lutz

Basically, disable the Today screen plug-in, figure out which installation of TT you want to keep, remove the other one, reset the PDA, enable the Today screen plug-in. Should be working now. |
