Sorry if this has been answered before but i couldnt find it. I've just recently bought a go300 and was wondering how long a subscription you get for map updates etc. Is it just 12 months or for the lifetime of the product. Cheers |

it is 0 months. There is no subscription for map updates.
You MAY be able to get newer maps at a discount, but not for free. _________________ Lutz

So it doesn't cover all the errors I've been reading about on the maps etc ? |

Yup . One way TomTom keeps the price down ... I guess.
Anyway you can subscribe to 1 year of map updates here, http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=10&Language=1
but it is not free. |

That link just seems to take me to the BUY maps section, can't see anything for a subscription, or am I being blind? |

Your not blind. I didn't realise either until someone on the forum pointed out that when you 'buy' a map you get to download it for 12 months. |

Aha, interesting....
I wonder if that means you can download the SAME map for a year , or the same PLACE's map even if it is updated? (although if they don't update the maps for a whole year it amounts to the same thing really!) |

Just seems really really poor service to me that you buy a system with known map errors and because your SD card was written 2 months ago or more at manufacture date, your up the swanny without a paddle. I at least expected updates for 12 months. Not that I'm gonna take it back, but without updates of any kind (maps i mean, not firmware), isn't that grounds for it being a defective product ? |

ah, here we go again... We've had that discussion many, many times already. But we can't add anything constructive to the situation - it's just how it is. It's called "making money". _________________ Lutz

When you buy a road atlas do you expect them to replace it free of charge for a year too? |
