Version number not updating

I have updated twice now, firstly to 5.1 then to the 5.21 update out today, however through all of these updates the version numbers have not been updated, if I go to the plan a journey section it shows version 5, whilst selecting the About icon also gives me version 5..... I am doing something wrong or is the software not updating ?

Tomtom 5 on a 2210 Ipaq, 512Mb SD card.

either the software is not updating or you have two copies installed - maybe one in RAM and one on storage card - and your shortcut points to the "other" one.

Always do a soft reset before updating, otherwise the program may still be in memory.

5.21 installed navigator.exe in a different location than 5.10. My shortcut was pointing to the old version.
