I had CoPilot 4 on my IPAQ 3870, and then switched to Navigator 2004 cause of the features. It was working fine and I even took it to Europe and used it over there. Around July 05, my battery went completely dead and I lost all my apps/data and reinstalled Navigator 2004. I cannot get the CoPilot Jacket receiver to get a fix on any satellites. I check the GPS Status and I don't see any satellites at all. The dots are moving from the GPS status page. This problem started occurring after I didn't use the GPS for about 3 months. I have done all the things, such as soft reset, reinstall product, make sure I have a clear view of the sky, etc. I have left it in the car for about 3 hours. Like I said before, this was working fine in the same car same jacket, same windows software, same windows mobile software. I used a program called GPS Viewer made by HOLUX to check to see if the GPS receiver is sending/receiving data and it is.

This is what I see:
Code:

$GPRMC,000029.997,V,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0.000000,,101102,,*05
$GPGGA,000030.997,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0,00,50.0,0.0,M,0.0,M,0.0,0000*72
$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,50.0,50.0,50.0*05
$GPRMC,000030.997,V,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0.000000,,101102,,*0D
$GPGGA,000031.997,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0,00,50.0,0.0,M,0.0,M,0.0,0000*73
$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,50.0,50.0,50.0*05
$GPRMC,000031.997,V,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0.000000,,101102,,*0C
$GPGGA,000032.997,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0,00,50.0,0.0,M,0.0,M,0.0,0000*70
$GPGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,50.0,50.0,50.0*05
$GPRMC,000032.997,V,0000.0000,N,00000.0000,E,0.000000,,101102,,*0F

This just keeps repeating, and I don't see any satellites and the screen says 'Acquiring: No fix'

I also tried the info from Tweaking and Tesing your GPS Receiver to no avail. I never see the NMEA data as above. I would imagine since I am just testing the GPS receiver, if one program gets the data, the other should. But it isn't. I also made sure that GPS Viewer progam was not running when I tried WinFast Navigator.

Also, the UTC Time always starts around 11:59:55 and UTC Date is always 11/10/02 in any of the GPS Utilities or GPS Status screen.
Why is this happening? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I have searched this forum and other forums and have tried numerous things. I would like to get some software that can maybe reset the GPS receiver (if this is possible) or tell me if the GPS receiver is really trying to communicate with the satellites or are the NMEA messages just some generic responses.

I even tried my old Pocket CoPilot 4 software and still no luck. Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips or a way to get this GPS receiver to communicate with the satellites.

The GSV sequence is missing. You may want to reprogram the receiver to

RMC 1
GSA 1
GSV 5

or see if a factory reset helps

I did that to no avail. Sad The settings I have under WinFast Navigator are CGA:1 GLL:0, GSA:1 (used to be 5 before change), GSV:5, RMC:1, VTG:1, MSS:0, User:0, User:0, User:0

The only program I have to change these values in WinFast Navigator, but I don't see any NMEA data. I get the data out of Holux's GPS Viewer, but cannot change these values in there. Is there another program that I should be using to configure the GPS receiver?
