hi brucep,

Sorry I dont have one of these device but am also thinking of getting one. On the surface it looks like a very nice piece of kit but I am wondering if they will release a Windows Mobile 5 version or and ugrade path?

If you are looking at running TomTom www.semsons.com have the device for US$370 for the hardware only. This is a prety good price from what Ive seen elsewhere.

I have one of these and so far have been very impressed.

I am running tomtom 5.1 and it runs very smoothly and i am able to get fix on about 8 satellites in my front room.

The car kit it comes with isn’t to bad either and i paid £260 for the bare unit.

The power cable is supported in the car kit to stop it being knocked and damaged and the unit is apparently the first pda specifically designed for GPS yet it runs all my pda software perfectly well for what i want.

The only down side is that it doesn’t have Bluetooth to allow for instant updates or hands free but as i don’t us it for hands free and do my updates via the PC that’s not an issue.

Any other questions feel free to ask.

I would say for the money its good value as I spent ages looking around and for its flexibility the only thing that may come close would be the new MIO A201 when it comes out.

The thing I like the most about this unit is the way the antenna is inbuilt and therefore there are no week hinge joints.

Thanks for the replys. Sounds like a good bit of kit then, not to bothered about the blue tooth as i've got a head set for the phone and dont have it on the pc.
Had a look at the MIO A201 also looks good has bluetooth and also Windows Mobile 5.0. Anyone know what the price will likely be?

I had a brief preview of one and it's a nice unit, SiRFStarIII GPS, no external antenna. Nice screen, dedicated GPS buttons.

Very nice indeed. My only complaint was the supplied cradle, a little over engineered where a simple clip in solution would have worked just as well but that's nit picking.

Out of interest where is it being sold and how much?

Most of the online stores now stock it.

I got mine from globalpositioningsystems because i have used them before not saying they are the best or worst.

Seen the cradle does look a bit on the big side!! But i'm sure this is the unit i'll be getting.

Nice to see someone from HoluxUK takes a look on the forums.
