on the tt5 i want to turn the voice off but have the poi warnings on.
all i can find in my menu is sound off which stops both.
any ideas?
also has 'skuX's' menu been adapted to work on palms yet?
thanks as always.

What to do is, go into your options in tomtom, change voice and then select a voice that you have not downloaded / installed yet (ie. Ken's Australia). You should then have no voice directions but the POI warnings should remain on as this is a seperate voice.

I don't believe that the Menubuilder works with Palms yet.

Hope this helps

Why would you want to do this when driving? I'm presuming that part of your journey may be in unfamiliar territory and thus you would need voice guidance and then the latter part you know and thus could turn the voice off (but surely if you know the area, you should know the speed cameras??)

If any of you want a "silent" voice you can download it from here http://www.rayflanagan.co.uk/silent.html

Thanks for that, I think 'itsme' wanted an option where he could easily swap between voice on and voice off without losing the speed camera warnings. Wink

Same for me. One being the fact that whilst driving I'm often talking hands free on the phone. I don't want John Cleese piping up to say "After 300 yards go over the roundabout third exit" whilst I'm talking to a customer but I don't mind a subtle "ping" to warn me about the odd scamera. This was a good feature on TT3 with CheckPOInt.

I've not actually driven using the new TT5 yet but if I find a workaround I'll post it back here.

What you could do is use custom menus and easily swap over your voice to a silent one???

I read his post wrongly the first time. I thought it said "What you could do with are custom menus and easily swap over your voice to a silent one???"

Anyhow, I think this is what we're looking for.
