POI Sync to viaMichelin (Mapsonic v3) on Palm Lifedrive

I am having a real problem adding POIs (sppedcam etc) to mapsonic v3 on my Plam Lifedrive. I have seen various posts with instructions and have followed these, so I can get the .asc files into Michelin POI manager and add them to the palm, and sometimes this even works, but eventually if I continue adding POI files, the lifedrive drops into a "soft reset loop" everytime I start viaMichelin. I never see this until I add a few POI Files, and I have found no way out once it starts.

I have seen a post refering to .poi files installed on the palm - I cannot find these files at all - is this still the way it works in Mapsonic v3 ? Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing the continual soft resets ?
