TomTom One question

I know the original statement published on this site sugested that the TT One will be available late November. I would like to buy one of these for my dad for xmas and am slightly concerned the UK TT website doesnt mention it unless you search thru the support search facility. Is it realistic to expect it at the end of nov. Surely TT would want to do some marketing prior to release in the uk and so far no website seems to be able to guarantee a price or release date.

Im not sure if anyone can confirm these questions, if anyone can then please reply:

1. Does anyone know the official release date?
2. Are they manufacturing enough units for supply to really meet demand?
3. Official price?
4. As the battery lasts two hours, is it supplied with a cigarette lighter power lead or is one availble thru a third party?
5. Where it has already been released, are there any protective covers for it available as my dads van gets mucky.
6. Will the pocketgpsworld.com speed camera database work on it?

Thanks for any help you can give, im sure this years big xmas seller will be sat nav and i really dont want my good old dad to miss out!

p.s. sorry some of the questions are basic, I currently use TT5 on my PDA and have good knowledge of PDA TT but not too much knowledge on all in one products!

You can't always rely on TomTom to sell the same bits in different countries. For example, the 300 only has a car charger in UK but comes with a mains charger as well in other markets.

Since all the accessories are the same as the other Go models it should work the same. There's even a rumour that the limit on the number of PoIs is being raised, so the speed cameras should work as well!
