Real-time traffic-ready. CoPilot Live 6 supports both TMC and GPRS Traffic information. Traffic availability and cost varies according to region and retailer.
Now why didn't they make a staement like that about CPL5 - instead of clearly stating it was included then not delivering it.

"CoPilot Live 6 is here" Is it ??

Their website seems to suggest that it is. However, if you follow any of the 'buy now' links, none of the retailers are advertising it or selling it ! Only CPL5 is still being sold.

Not that I'll be rushing out and buying it.

More ALK mis-information ??

I'd suggest that what we'd all need before we rush out and get it (if it IS available) is a full unbiased "warts and all" review on here (not like the one we fell for on CPL5) that looks at all the bugs that have been recorded on this forum to see if they have been fixed. Shouldn't be too much to ask should it? Confused

Just ahead - beware new release!

Well thats the URL for the CPL6 Patches for Pocket PC - nice to see them giving patches away already to fix their buggy software - shame they haven't bothered fixing CPL5 yet - guess thats never gonna happen now they have a new (toy?) to play with.

Edited by Tim to retain page formatting, also to add a word. (toy?)

I am so fed up with software companys selling buggy software & ignoring all complaints, then bringing out a new version and expecting existing customers to pay again for something that should have been given to them for free, along with an apology for the problems with the original.

No wonder so many people have illegal copies of software, how many times should we pay to get a fully working copy of CoPilot? or any other software for that matter.

It would have been nice to see something in CP6's features that states improved route calculation over CP5. Fine tunability is one thing, but I think that there were some fundamental problems with CP5's avoidance of direct routes on local roads that simply changing road speed won't alter. And they still haven't acknowledged that there were bugs in CP5 that one might reasonably expect them to have resolved in CP6.

Unlike others, I have applied for the upgrade, since I will just switch back to CP5 if the initial release of CP6 proves unusable. I know that, in the end, they will have a version of CP6 that is no worse than CP5, and I have no wish to switch to a competitor at the moment. Since I tend to use it for longers journeys, and not for local deliveries, I have fewer issues with CP5 than others on this forum.

If somebody from ALK were to reply with comments about known bugs in CP5, and their resolution within CP6, I think that forum users would be happier with the proposed upgrade, even if they would have wished that those bugs had been resolved with a free CP5 update.

M8 - look how many cracked copies of Tom Tom there are available all over the net - if any software is good it will almost invariably get cracked at some point. BUT - i have yet to see a cracked copy of Co-Pilot anywhere on the net - I even asked the question on here a good few months ago and Dave Burrows indicated that it probably hadn't been cracked because the security algorithm it uses is so good. My personal opinion is that the CP5 is so bug-ridden and unpopular it's not worth the hassle of cracking it especially when there are much better and apparently easier to crack programs such as TomTom.

After my previous thread concerning 'Beta Testers for CP6', it seems strange that it is now being released, and yet none of the regular users or perhaps more importantly, none of the PGPSW team appear to have beta tested the product.

Ir does make you wonder if this has been road tested at all to see if it resolves many of the problems in CP5.

Furthermore, as has been mentioned, CP6 needs to be thoroughly reviewed and an HONEST appraisal of its pros & cons given, unlike the review of CP5 !

Bazzer - see Darren's reply to my posting along the same lines -
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=157054#157054

Darren is indicating that we could get some user - specific problems with CPL5 included in the CPL6 review as well to see if they have been fixed - or not.
