Mapstore 2.3 & storing destinations/using newer maps?

Okay I am using Mapstore 2.3 on a laptop and it is working well, I don't have or use a PDA so I have to stick to using my laptop.

Do you know how to store destinations for common locations in Mapstore, I have looked and looked but cant see any way of doing it. I think it is supposed to integrate with the address book, but is this only on a PDA? If I can use the address book in Windows I cant see anyway to call them up in Mapstore?

Also I have Mapstore 3 and 2.5 but they wont install on a PC without actually connecting to a PDA during the install, so can I use the maps on Mapstore 2.3?

Create a POI category (Edit/Types of POI/Add) called Favourites.

On the map right click at the location you wish to add the POI and select "Add a POI" select Favourites from the Category drop down and the job is done.

Alternatively if you know the precise coordiantes then you can use Display/Centre Place/Coords to position the cursor where you want and then do the right click process as above.

You say you have v2.3. I think you are referring to the version number of the MapSonic application. I suspect you have v3.5 of Mapstore in which case the maps for the later versions should work fine as there has been no update to Mapstore of late. However unless you have a new CD set for v2.5 or v3 then you won't have any new maps as these only come on the CDs and as yet viaMichelin have not decided to provide updates for exisiting users unless they rebuy the whole package.
