No voice but Gatso alerts? new maps?

hi - i have the original TTG classic which im very happy with but never use the voices! - im still on the 128mb card which seems to get me by fine..

How can i delete all the voices and just have the sound on for Speed Camera alerts? Will deleting EVERY voice give me a bit more memory on my card? Is there anywhere showing how to do this procedure?

Secondly is there a new downloadable map for the UK? I didnt get the maps last year and i presume there will be new maps around March - does this mean last years maps will become a free download for those of us who dont do that much driving and can get away with small updated maps?

My TTG is as follows :

30mb RAM (free: 6.6mb)

Ray Flanagan, on his website http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/ has a silent voice which would meet your needs.

If you want to delete unused voices, there is an option in Change Preferences > Change Voice to Delete a Voice. Each voice takes up about 1MB.

I doubt very much that TT will be selling outdated maps cheaply, never mind for free.

As im Still using a TTG CLassic, whats the latest stable software i can update to? I am on 5.1 at the moment which seems fine, but know that there is up to V5.420!

I know there were some issues with the later updates but have these been resolved? Also are they for the newer Go 500/700's only?

What things am i missing on v5.1 on a "Classic"? is it beneficial to upgrade or stay as i am?
