I have TomTom 3 running on an Orange SPV M1000 pocket pc.
Recently, my SPV went wrong and Orange replaced it free of charge. I re-installed my TomTom software and although it works, it does not speak to me. I have to keep looking at the screen. Not a good idea at all!
I have looked for additional settings for the volume but can't find any. I have checked that the sound is turned on in TomTom
Does anyone have any ideas for this one please?
Thanks Liz |

Run up tt3, press the screen and on the first menu page ensure the icon "turn sound OFF" with red X over it is present, if it says "turn sound ON" without the red X then select this as this will be your problem (I doubt it but thought I would include it).
To get at the sound properties press "More" twice then select Properties on this screen will be a check box "Voice instructions" ensure that is selected then use the volume slider to set the desired level, check it works with the test button. Mike |

Thanks Mike.
I have definitely got the red cross over turn sound off.
I have gone to properties and the box for voice instructions is ticked and the volume slider is in the middle. No sound on test. turned the slider up to full but still no sound on test.
Any more suggestions would be gratefully received.
Could my SPV M1000 be faulty? I make phone calls etc on it OK.

Its OK, thanks.
Now I have checked the TT as Mike suggested, I went browsing again (I did try once) to the Pocket PC settings and found that notifications had was unchecked for Programs.
All is now OK. 'Mary' now speaks to me and has stopped sulking!
Cheers
