I was on my way to work Thursday and as I had forgotton to take my mobile phone I could not get traffic. But as I approached The Target Roundabout at Northolt on the A40 the traffic slowed to a crawl. Suddenly I noticed that Tomtom showed quing traffic. As soon as I passed the hold up (a car on its roof) the quing traffic on Tomtom cleared.Perhaps I picked up another cars bluetooth connection. I don't know. But strange. Any ideas?

I cant for the like of me work out how that worked but I will be watching this thread with interest.
The only way this could have probably have worked is if someone's bluetooth phones viability was set to ' Show to all ', but even then since their phone would not be paired to your unit how would the two connect to each other.
Perhaps someone else will have the answer or at least a theory. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

Don't know much about traffic never used it.
I had a thought; could it be that the last time you were connected some info on a jam in that area was downloaded. Since there had since been no updates it used the old information. The fact that it matched your jam was just coincidence.
Well it's better than my other theory 8O |

Stanley. I think you have hit the nail on the head.
A couple of hours ago I had a problem with my phone which required me to remove the battery.
While the battery was still removed I was trying some stuff on my TTG and plotted a journey from ' Recent Destinations ' and yes you guessed it, my unit showed an incident on route which of course is not possible since my TTG could not connect to my phone as it was switched off. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

So how does it happen. I know the hold up was real in my case as I saw the car on its roof. Next time I go out I will not switch the phone on and see what happens.
