firmware upgrade

hi guys

can anybody help, i have just got the firmware update 5.201 for my 300 of a friend and i was wondering before i use it will i need an activation code after installed or will my go 300 work just as before. the reason i'm asking is that i was told if you insert the card in another go after the upgrade it asks for an activation code
any help would be most welcome

if you do the upgrade on your own card it won't ask for the activation code. But if you simply copy your friend's card then yes, you will have to re-enter your own activation code.

The activation code is tied to the device ID, and therefore doesn't match when you use someone else's card.
