Hello all,

Just got Tom Tom Nav 5 blootooth .. after a bit of fun pairing up the GPS receiver with my PDA ipaq 4150 I was off ... Navigated myself to my old address and back again ( nearly crashed twice because I was totally amased at watching the 3d map showing where I was ) :P ..

Then I upgraded to 5.1 and that went smoothly ..But next I thought I would add the speed camera POI's .. Now here comes the silly question.. I installed tom tom with the SD card provided.. And when I read the destructions for adding the osv and bmp files , it ses to put them in the map directory .. Now I guess that the SD Card with the software and maps is read only so I won't be able to do that .. correct ? so do I have to get another SD card and copy the software onto that then add the POI's ..

Sorry if its a silly question but I am fairly new to this stuff ..

THANKS IN ADVANCE Laughing

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

The ov2 and bmp files go onto your original tomtom sdcard.

I'd do a full backup of your sdcard too.

Have a look here at Oldboy's intructions halfway down the page for the various options of files to use

The SD card will be read only if the small tab on the side of the card is set to that position, the files you need are in the folder named

ov2 bmp files

open the folder, then copy the 12 files, then paste them to the map folder on your sd card via ActiveSync, then you need to configure TT5 via the menu's, that's it, go navigate, but note the files for the Safety Camera's may never be 100%, so be careful.
