Everything is properly installed, I've enabled Bluetooth on the phone and it finds the Holox unit - or at least it says it does - but there is no sign of the GPS data getting to the phone

Am I missing something?

All guidance much appreciated

If you have the blue light flashing pairing is OK, if you also have green light flashing you have sats fixed. In which case the problem will be within the Destinator config where the com port needs to match the outgoing port you chose when pairing.
If you have solid green light, give it a view of the clear sky for a while. Took me 20 mins on first attempt. Maintain pairing during this time so powersave does not kick in and shut down the receiver. Subsequent fixes are quick.

Thanks for your suggestions - as it happens I solved the problem myself last evening too late to post anything here

Mind you - I can't actually remember exactly what it was that I did that solved it!
Something to do with allocating COM ports in the phone settings

I daresay I could do it again given enough time

All I need to do now is work out how to answer calls at the same time as navigate..... :D

David

Regarding answering/making a call. I'm not sure which version of Destinator you are using and I've looked at some reviews for the phone. Looks like its a similar setup to the PPC version I run.

With mine destinator won't let you access the today screen without closing the application but I can still make and receive calls. Have you tried just pressing the green handset while Destinator is running? In my setup (see sig below) this brings up the phone app over the top of Detinator PN and I can call. I can return to navving by either closing the phone app (without stopping the call) or pressing the hotkey I've allocated to Destinator. Once I've finished I hit the red end key. To close the phone app I press the red end key again. Destinator continues either way but voice guidance continues.

Might be totally different in your setup but I had to do some trial and error to find this out so it may help.

Thanks for that.
The problem was a classic "operator error" Embarassed I had the phone set on silent so didn't know it was ringing.

If you're up to speed on the software though, I could use some help in getting speed camera locations into the POI files....

Oh dear, welcome to the world of Destinator and Cameras!

Perhaps following this post we should either start a new thread or PM eachother. We're way off the original topic now.

As for the Speed Camera issue, its Destinators weakpoint. Then again I don't know which version of Destinator you are running. I personally have given up on Destinator's camera alerts and now use POIObserver alongside. Even with the latest update PN still gives you terrible distances to alerts and they aren't speed variable.

Anyways, let me know which Desti version you have and we'll pick it up, perhaps in the Destinator Forum?

I would recommend a cup of tea and a good trawl through that forum before you do anything else.
