TT5 wont recognise aerial...help!

i have a dell axim X5 and just installed TT5...in the set up screen, there is a choice ( ihave hard wired gps aerial, a rikaline gps-6010) of connection options:
usb cable (obviously not)
com3
native ir
serial cable on com1

i'm guessing its either com 3 or com1 option....my aerial is plugged into the slot at the bottom of my PDA....but whichever option i try i have a message saying "no GPS device"

any help gratefully received!

COM1 is the right one. Make sure you also select 4800, and set your receiver to NMEA mode.
