|
|
Have just upgraded to TT5 (not 5.1) which has GPS Driver V1.20. I am using an HP Ipaq 2210 whith the TT Bluetooth receiver that came in the bundle with TT3.
I have been through the TT suggested set-up to make the Bluetooth connection and the connection appears OK. (I have tried the TT Bluetooth option and "other Bluetooth Device" with same result), I get the rotating "radioactive" style icon and a time shown in the GPS Status window with a list of satellites all greyed out.
The main TT screen just shows the message "Waiting for valid GPS Signal" or "No GPS Signal".
Having searched the forums here and the TT support site can't find anything to report a similar issue.
Can anyone help ? - Thanks in advance. |

If the sats are greyed out then it looks like it is working (I assume you have a number of bars lit grey) leave it for a little while longer and it should lock on to the sat constalation OK. as a new GPS unit it could take a few min for the first time fix. Also make sure its got a good clean line of site to the sky no tall buildings close by etc. - Mike |

Thanks for the input Mike.
Firstly it's not a new GPS unit, had it as TT3 for about a year and working OK.
Have left it on for at least 30 mins but still no signal. Certainly got good line of site and know it works in home location without problems.
I don't get grey bars on the satellite list, just a dot against each sat number, yesterday at one point I had all satellites showing in grey on the compass diagram all aligned to the north ?
thanks again |

Go into the TT GPS set-up and try setting it to "other cabled GPS" and then set the Baud speed and finally select the Bluetooth port the GPS unit is using - why it needs to be configured this way I don't know - but this normally fixes this type of issue - Mike |

Still have the rotating icon and time on GPS.
Have set to the default baud rate of 4800.
Any other ideas Mike ? - is there any kind of reset for the GPS receiver - can't find anything in the destructions |

Have you set up to a cabled device - if so try a baud speed of 9600 - Mike |

Sorrry the other thing I should have mentioned is there will be two BT ports via the cabled setting - try the other one as you may have selected the wrong one - Mike |
