|
|
Anyone else having this problem with an acer or similar? Basically, when on main roads at speed it occasionally jumps in to a field, which is not a major problem. However, in town and cities, it is constanly putting me on an adjacent roads, into rivers, into shops, on completely random roads etc. This is making it very difficult to naviagte in the area I need it most! Any suggestions?
Cheers. |

Remove 5.1 and stay with version 5. I had the same problems using 5.1
5.1 is not needed as the changes in it are not for acer.
Also 5.1 was an absolute disaster for me. Navigating a short route to test 5.1 I took my normal route, TT wanted me to take a different route. I took the route I wanted to take but TT wanted me to turn round when about 500 meters from destination and go back nearly to my start point and follow the route it wanted me to take in the first place. This does not happen with version 5.

OK, thanks for that, I'll give it a go - it's just I had a problem with everything slowing down with version 5, but I'll try it again. Nice to know someone else has it working anyway!
Cheers. |

Well, i tried that and ended up going back to Destinator 3 on holiday!! TT5.0 is just as bad, and I have found it to be absolutely impossible to navigate with in town and city centres. One thing though, going back to version 5 had a driver version of 1.2 - is that right? If not how do I go back a driver version? |

I use an acer n35 with tt5, both version 5 and 5.1 jump off roads occasionally and at road junctions surrounded by lorries or in cities with tall buildings etc it seems to throw wobblies and doesnt know where you are, then tries to recalculate / The jumping off route does seem to be a known bug with tt5. Im considering trying an external aerial for the acer n35 to see if this makes any difference. |

It's not just me then. Although I have none of this with Destinator 3, apart from the very very occasional quick jump, so it must be the driver or software causing it. |

I certainly didnt have this problem at all using tt3, that always performed flawlessly for me, i do like the new maps though in tt5 and the poi warning feature saves me running checkpoint. |

Just for information, I purchased an external aerial for the acer from ebay at a cost of £11.95 including P&P. I have done a couple of runs with it and so far the gps point has been stable. I hasten to add that the gps signal strength is vastly improved using this external gps aerial. Maybe that has something to do with this problem. |
