tomtom go 500 + 700 can be used as a handsfree kit for your mobile, how come this is not available on the PDA version as my and most PDA's have mic's, speakers and bluetooth? is there a way to do this? or is there some software that can make this possible, as my phone is connected for tomtom traffic any way, why not let it take calls?
thanks james |

I posted a very similar question a little while ago, I think the main reason why TT V5 does not support this, is down to the Bluetooth profiles.
When you connect a mobile phone to a handsfree device, the device you connect to, in this case the PDA advertises the services it supports. I'm not aware of any PDA that supports headset or handsfree profiles, I may be wrong. I suspect that TT have developed these profiles sepcifically for the GO products.
I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I suspect this is the reason. |

Don't think it is anything to do with Tom Tom. I have Ipaq 6340 with built in phone and Tom Tom works with that and BT and talks to my BT car kit, which also has satelite receiver (Parrot 3300). My sat nav instructions and sounds mute the the car audio and come through its speakers (same as phone).
The handset and headset profiles are standard. I think the problem is that your PDA will not support them because it has not got a built in phone.
I have been told that this is not possible with Palm systems because the BT will not deal with two connections (BT to sat nav receiver and BT to car phone kit) at the same time. |
